Simulating liquids in a scene / environment was an avenue I was eager to explore in Blender 2.8. It was not too long after I discovered the software’s ability to effortlessly transform a flat plane into a fluid surface with the help of what Blender calls the “Fractal Values”: a unit that essentially allows the user to input a numeric value which would eventually deform the plane into a fluid surface depending on the value inputted. The working behind such an effective function is what intrigued a person like me to explore beyond what was evident.




Subtly inspired by the movie “Madagascar (2006)”, the scene took less than half an hour to be completely set up. Accompanied by an HDR that easily gets the job of lighting done in a jiffy.
